
After discovering a clandestine crematory and a CJNG training camp in Teuchitlán, Jalisco, various groups in different cities of Mexico took to the streets to demand justice and encourage reflection. In Mexico City, the call took place in the main square at 5:00 PM.
In an atmosphere of mourning and with a call to end violence and disappearances, the protest in the Mexican capital brought together families of missing persons, search groups, and hundreds of supportive citizens. At this event, 400 candles were lit, and 400 pairs of shoes were placed in memory of the objects and belongings found on the Izaguirre ranch in Teuchitlán, Jalisco.
Under the slogan "Teuchitlán, never again," the protests spread to other cities. In Guanajuato, Oaxaca, and Guerrero, demonstrations were held in solidarity with the victims found in the extermination center in Jalisco. Groups from Acapulco, Chilpancingo, Guanajuato, and Querétaro joined the national day of mourning, demanding justice and truth in the face of the disappearance crisis the country is experiencing.
Additionally, in Morelos, groups, families of the disappeared, religious leaders, and civilians united for the national vigil and day of mourning, protesting against the events in Teuchitlán, Jalisco. In Cuernavaca, a prayer was held to remember the victims and demand safety and justice, while candles, shoes, and clothing items were placed in the Plaza de Armas as a form of peaceful protest.
Amidst these acts of commemoration and demand for justice, participants emphasized the importance of giving a voice to the families of the missing and highlighting the serious situation of violence and insecurity that many regions of the country are facing.
